Wahren HENSLEY Obituary

07.06.1942 - 23.02.2025

It is with deep sadness that we need to share the passing of Wahren Hensley, a long-time resident of Clarendon Terrace who passed away after a short illness. He was an incredibly loved father, mentor, and friend to Mathew, Brandon, & Suzanne, Vanessa and Mark. Wahren was the most playful and cheeky grandfather to Maitreya, Reed, Leo, Jacinta and Anthony, and a special mate of Margie & Brent & Zoe and longtime friend of Theresa.

You ran an incredible race dad, keep chasing those PS's, thanks for everything.

Grateful thanks to all the incredible staff in ICU at the Chch Hospital whom helped navigate the last week of Wahren's life, the comfort you provided him and us is truly appreciated. Messages to the Hensley Family, c/- PO Box 10335, Christchurch 8145.
The service to celebrate Wahren's life will be held in St Anne's Catholic Church, 739 Ferry Road, on Friday, March 7, at 1.00pm.

I am very sorry to hear about Wahren's passing. I remember Wahren cycle racing in Christchurch both in road racing and on the track racing at English Park weekly meetings in the 1960s. A cycle racing mate, Ron Kennedy told me of Wahrens passing, and we both share memories of racing with Wahren.

I just discovered this by accident, I can't believe Wahren is dead, we knew each other for 50 years, even though I moved to Perth, we stayed in touch.
