Vyonne Elsie (Von):
Peacefully at home in Christchurch, on May 30, 2018, aged 94 years. Beloved wife of Leo (deceased), loved mother of Steve, and the late Paula, special and cherished mother-in-law of Anne, grandmother of Hugh, Katherine, and William, and loved bonus mother of Cheryl, Janne, and Michella. Our sincere and grateful thanks to Nurse Maude Palliative and Personal Care Nurses, Woodcote Retirement Village Staff and her caring General Practitioner Dr Rob. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Von Barker, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A Service to celebrate Von's life will be held in our Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Tuesday, June 5, at 10.00am.

How to say Goodbye to such a dear friend and Honorary Mother? It is not possible. Von and Lee were a huge part of our lives growing up; always visiting, being taken for walks or to the movies, trips to the Lake, and our Big Trip to the UK together with Jean. She was an inspiration, always busy with Probus and Orana Park. The world could do with many more amazing people like our Von. The memories will be cherished, and I will miss you dearly. Rest in peace dear friend, you have earnt it. And say Hello to Leo, Jake, Mum and Dad for me too. I've attached one of my favourite photos of Von and Lee in their backyard with my sister Cheryl and my daughter Bella.
