STOKES,

Very much loved mother and mother-in-law of Garry (late), Steven, Christine and Charles, Paul and Yvonne, Sharon and Peter, Kevin and Janet, Scott and Natasha. Adored Nana of Karl and Char, Leaticia and Brent, Mikala, Marrisa and Mat, Laura and Nic, Ben, Dakota and Mekhi. Our Goodwin family were so lucky to have your beautiful mother always in our lives. We have all enjoyed her company and the love she shared amongst us, and we have such great and wonderful memories of her and your Dad at Nortons Road celebrating with us on so many occasions during the past years. A beautiful lady forever in our hearts also. She will be missed by all x

To all of Vi's family we send our love and deepest sympathy to you all.
Vi played a very big part of our family life for such a long time and she was one of the first people I turned to last year when I made, what was for me, a life changing decision. I don't think I have ever met another person like her. I know I will miss knowing she is no longer here but take comfort in knowing that she is back with Alf. That corner table up there is filling fast.
RIP Vi, much love xx

Amongst the grief and sadness, we are so proud and grateful to have had the most wonderful, supportive and devoted Mum, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. Thanks for all the laughter, the fun and special memories and for being the glue that held us all together.
We will miss you every day. Dance with the angels
and envelope us with love from above.

STOKES,
Violet Mary (nee Hanson):
Sadly passed away after a very brief illness, at Christchurch Public Hospital, on July 6, 2022, aged 88 years. A tough fighter who kept her sense of humour to the end. Much loved and cherished mother and mother-in-law of Sharon and Peter Lagan, and adored Nana of Ben Lagan, Laura and Nic Popham, and much loved Gran of little Freddie Popham.
My Mother kept a garden, a garden of the heart,
She planted all the good things that gave my life its start.
She tur ned me to the sunshine, and encouraged me to dream,
Fostering and nurturing the seeds of self-esteem...
And when the winds and rains came, she protected me enough,
But not too much, she knew I'd need to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example always taught me right from wrong,
Markers for my pathway to last my whole life long.
I am my Mother's garden,
I am her legacy,
And I hope today she feels the love reflected back from me.
