Always remembered and appreciated for his unique and cryptic sense of humour. At a school cricket practice, spying a very ornate watch lying on the ground for fear it could be broken, "now Williams! Who would own such a vulgar looking watch like that?" My success in maths at "Newmarket High School" could always be attributed to his sound teaching. RIP Vic Bartley

Vic & I first met in 1949 in Fred Allen's class at Cornwall Park School, spent five years at AGS (1952-56) where we trained together and raced in the annual cross-country events; travelled to Napier with the First XI hockey team (1956), and chatted briefly at the 60th reunion in 2012.
Sorry to learn today you have lost such a fine and active all-rounder - he & Bryce were memorably impressive on the cornet. JK in Vancouver BC Canada 2022 01 23
