Vassilios KERDEMELIDIS Obituary

Passed away peacefully after a short illness, on Sunday, April 6, 2025, aged 93 years. Born in Alupka-Sara, Crimea to a Pontic Greek family, youngest son of Constantine and Eftihia, and brother of Anna, Theodore, Christopher, Fima, and Markos. Beloved father and father-in-law of Melissa, Peter and Diane, and the late Gregory, much loved Papou of Emma, Kaia, and George. Ex husband of Kari, Koumbaro of Alexander, and beloved uncle of many, former Senior Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at the University of Canterbury. Many thanks to Dr Peter Sim for over 30 years of service, and a special thank you to the staff at Christchurch Hospital Ward 16 and doctors for their care and support. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Basil Kerdemelidis, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the service to the Greek Orthodox Church. A funeral service for Basil will be held at the Greek Orthodox Church, corner of Roosevelt Avenue and Malvern Street, St Albans, on Saturday, April 12, at 10.00am.
