Valerie Gwynneth (Val):
Passed away peacefully in Christchurch on December 13, 2021; aged 84 years. Dearly loved wife of Fred; and the late Ken McNiven. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Lyndsay; Heather and Ian; Jeanette; Wendy and Martin. Treasured Nana to her 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Loved daughter of the late Stanley and Connie Elphick. Deeply loved sister and friend of Beryl, and loved aunty of Meryl (Queensland).

Val's family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Anthony Wilding Retirement Village and Dr Phil Jacobs for the outstanding care shown to Val. Messages c/- PO Box 111-01, Christchurch 8443. In line with Val's wishes, a private cremation has already taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate Val's life will be held in the Academy Funeral Chapel, 65 Main South Road, Upper Riccarton, on Friday, December 17, at 1.30pm. Due to Government Covid-19 rules, Vaccine Passes will be required to attend the service.
