McLEOD,
Valda Catherine (nee Cook):
Passed peacefully on Friday, January 1, 2021, after a short illness, aged 84 years. Loved wife of the late Andrew Forrest McLeod. Eldest daughter of the late Margaret and Thomas Cook (Wyndham). Loved mother and mother-in-law of Catherine and James Wesney (Invercargill), Wendy (Mataura), Christina (Jock) and George Gaudion (Gore), Jan Hay (Christchurch). Loved nan of Samantha, Paulette, the late Edwin, Ada, Emma, the late Andrew, Justine, Mary, Philip, and Gemma. Loved great-nan of Chelsea, Adam, Bailey, Quinn, Briana, MacKenzie, Hazel, Tasman, and Luca. Loved sister of Shirley (Christchurch), Sylvia (Australia), the late Lex Cook. And loved aunty of all her nieces and nephews. A service for Valda will be held in the Gore Town and Country Club Stadium, Bury Street, on Saturday, January 9, at 1.30pm, followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers donations may be left at the service for Hospice Southland. Mum will be resting at 14 Waverley Street, Gore, from Wednesday afternoon, for those who wish to pay their respects. Deepest sympathy McLeod Girls on your very sad loss of your Mum. Valda was a very strong and independent women who stuck to her guns and gave her best. Had lots of good times in her company and many memories of days gone by, enjoyed catching up in later times. RIP Valda.
