Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Christchurch Hospital, on Thursday, February 12, 2026, aged 89. She will be greatly missed by Sandra, Trudy, Oliver, Patrick, Hugo, Elsie, Tessa along with her wider friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations to St John Ambulance would be appreciated and may be made online at https://donate.stjohn.org.nz Messages for the Heney Family may be sent to 58 Coleridge Street, Sydenham, Christchurch 8023. A Funeral Service for June will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 28 Bealey Avenue, Christchurch Central City, Christchurch, on Wednesday, February 18, at 1.00pm.

June was a lovely lady; a warm and welcoming mum who made her home a great place to visit after school. The last time I saw her, when she heard that I like rhubarb, she went straight to her garden and gathered an armful for me to take home. Her bright and generous spirit will not be forgotten.

My condolences to all the family.
My mother, Maureen, worked for Saunders, Heney and Beadle many years ago and kept in touch with June for a while. So sorry to read of her passing.
