On November 17, 2019 at Christchurch Hospital. It is with a heavy heart, but gladness in the quiet peace, we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Loved wife of Teariki Te-eukura Inaina Upoko, honoured mother of Ngatokorua (Tere), Meari (Maggie), Tereapii (dec), Kurapare, Teariki, Ngamata (dec), Pauline (dec), John and Peter. Mother-in-law of David, Elvi, Mere and Jane. Grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Respected sister of Margaret, Anne (Dora), Katangi (dec), Ana (dec), Tarepeta, Kathleen, Moeroa (dec), Tere Makatea (dec), Nue (dec), Teinakore, Matangaro and Maria Antoinette (dec). Loved daughter of Kurapare Tini Pareanga and Tekura Taukiapa.

Our deepest thanks and gratitude to the staff in ward 24, Christchurch Hospital for the compassion and care they showed our mother. To the Stroke Specialists, the DNM at Hillmorton Hospital, the CNM and staff in AT&R. As per our mother's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
