Trevor MICKELL Obituary
Passed away with his loving family at his side, on Friday, August 14, 2020, aged 95 years. Loved husband of the late Patricia, dearly loved Dad of Gavin and Veronica, Julene Westfall, Ady and Chris Jones, Tania and Michael Van Dillen, Grant and Thea. Loved Pop of Debbie, Kathryn, Gareth (deceased), Kylie, Daniel, Toni, Stacey, Michael, Shannon, Quinn, and Eve, and all his great-grandchildren. Messages can be sent to Trevor's family at 22 Kaka Street, Stoke, Nelson 7011. Following Trevor's wishes, a private cremation has taken place. A celebration of Trevor's life will be held at a later date.

I will miss you Dad. Always loved coming home and reconnecting. You were a wonderful Dad who along with Mum was incredibly supportive in many ways to me, Toni, Stacey, Shannon and Michael on your adventures over here to the States. We all have wonderful memories. Really sorry to hear of the passing of Trevor. He was such a gentleman and was the go to man at the Hornby Police Station for all the young cops coming through. Always ready with sound advice and guidance when it was sought. One of the really good buggers.

How sad to learn of Trevors passing. Trevor was a thorough gentleman, infact I found him to be thorough in every aspect of his life which unfortunately has been brought to a close shy of the century he deserved.
I have Trevor to thank for giving me a pass mark to enter the NZ Police and thereafter the enjoyment and privilege of working alongside him at the Hornby Police Station.
Trevors ability as a policeman garnered massive respect from the communities he served, his peers and even those who thought they were smarter than the law.
Relatively quiet and unassuming his powerful countenance coupled with his dry good humour disarmed many a challenge. I recently saw an antique washing machine in a museum and accompanying it was the promotional guff which determined: ' solid, efficient, no agitation and cleans up the mess with little fuss' . Think Trevor Mickell !!
We all knew of the love and pride Trevor had for your mum and you kids and I wish to convey to you all my deep understanding in your loss and sorrow. I am sure Trevor's old police colleagues will echo my sentiments.
May this fine, universally respected man rest in peace.
