Peacefully at Village at the Park, Wellington, on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, aged 95. Loved and loving husband of Owen for 30 years. Loved father and father-in-law of Alan and Li Hong, Janet and Patrick, Katharine and Meredith, Ngaio and Ken, Ewan and Adrianna, Stewart and Carolyn. Loved grandfather and great-grandfather to many, doctor and benefactor to countless. Thank you to the staff at Buchanan Ward, Village at the Park for their care and kindness. A private family cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Trevor's life will be held at Lychgate Chapel, 306 Willis Street, Wellington, on Wednesday, December 20, at 2.00pm. I feel so honored to have spent time with Trevor in the Buchanan household in his last years, Trevor was such a delight and such great company throughout his time in Buchanan, he always thought I was Maria (a co-worker he thought highly of) this gave way to amazing stories of Trevor's past , and very funny indeed, I knew he thought I was Maria when I was in full PPE gear with a visor due to covid lockdown and he said "there you are Maria" I will miss him dearly, his wit, mega intelligence, his poetry, his laugh, his smiles & his stories, "rest in love " Dr Trevor Gebbie I will never forget you, to your amazing loving family I say I'm so sorry for your loss as it is great, love Kim (aka Maria) p.s. Trevor will have as many glasses of milk & cups of tea & whiskey now to his heart's desire and well earned indeed.

In 2014, Trevor Gebbie drove all the way down from Kuratau to see my production of 'Gaslight' for Backyard Productions. It was staged at the Gryphon Theatre with a seating capacity of 80. With a number of the Gebbie family we were assured of a full house.
It was an honour to entertain you, Trevor. I have always enjoyed your company and your most interesting stories of a life well lived.
