Tonya JUSTICE Obituary

On September 6, 2025, peacefully at Dunedin Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family; aged 55 years. Much loved and darling daughter of Judy and the late Erle, adored and loving sister and sister-in-law of Nic, Meg and Jimmy, and Alastair, devoted and loved Aunty Ton to Thomas, Reuben, and Teo; Ed, and Beth. A service to celebrate Tonya's life will be held in Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin, at 2.00pm on Friday, September 12, followed by private cremation. Messages to 148 Gladstone Road North, Mosgiel 9024 or on Tonya's page at www.hopeandsons.co.nz, where there is a link to the service.

Dear Judy, While trying to find your contact for my dad, Jan Viljoen, I came across this sad notice. I have many lovely memories of happy play dates with your daughters at your house in Kalamunda. I´m so terribly sad to see Erle has passed too. My dad is visiting Dunedin briefly in December this year and is keen to catch up if at all possible. Please give my deepest condolences to the family. The world moves in curious ways and social energy is rather fascinating. May the love of your family keep you all strong.

Dearest Tonya,
Writing this to you with my wee, darling Louie at my feet, keeping me warm! You talked to me often about having a wee dog and I know that you loved Louie when he visited.

I miss you.....................

There is a space unfilled between our teaching rooms. You are not there anymore. You were there one day. I went to lunch. I told you that I'd be back and then..... You were not there.

I always thought I'd see your happy face again. I did see your face again but it wasn't you. Not the last time. But I will, always see you, you stay with me, everytime that I help a refugee or international student, I am you, I represent you. Go on your journey, sister. You will surely be missed from mine. Elaine xxx
