Tammy Green Obituary

Tammy Lou Zeugner Green has passed into eternity in heaven on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the age of 53, after a long struggle with drug addiction. Her life was not an easy one, but her personality made it easy to love her. She exuded creativity and enthusiasm for life. Despite her struggles, she rose above them and accomplished much by going back to school and achieving her associate degree in dental assisting. She leaves behind to grieve her loss, her husband, Bill Green of Traverse City, her daughter, Jessica Zeugner, her son, Jorden Rector, and her foster family: her soul mama, Mary Katerberg, her sisters Lisa Bennardi, Darcy Laidler, Lori Katerberg, her brothers Jason Flier, Todd Flier, and Andrew Flier. She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Zeugner, her foster brother, David Flier, and her foster dad, Norm Katerberg. Her struggle with drug addiction began when she was 8 years old. She beat it for a while, until her brother David died from an overdose. Then she moved to Los Angeles, California to chase the sun and "escape". Her addiction ended up stealing her from all those who loved her most. LA is where she died from her addiction. She is now free from all her struggles because she had believed in the God who made her, and in Jesus as her Redeemer. The lyrics in the song by Martina McBride entitled "Anyway ", make us think of her. "You can love someone with all your heart, for all the right reasons. In a moment they can choose to walk away. Love them anyway. God is great. But sometimes life ain't good. And when I pray, it doesn't always turn out like I think it should. But I do it anyway." We will see you in Heaven someday, Tam.

As a person suffering from addiction I feel your pain. Love her for her. We don´t alienate friends or family on purpose, we´re simply embarrassed and ashamed.

RIP Tammy, you´re now free.
