On Sunday, August 20, 2023, peacefully, in Christchurch, aged 92 years. Dearly loved husband of Colleen. Dearly loved father of Nicola and Philip, and much loved father-in-law of Mike Manning. Adored Poppa of Lloyd and Hannah, Alexander, and Victoria Manning; Nathaniel and Sandra Taylor. Much loved great-grandfather of Amelia Manning. Dearly loved youngest son of Stuart and Grace Taylor (Wakanui), and loved brother and brother-in-law of Lloyd, and Ross and Noël Taylor. Treasured uncle of Susanna, Judith and Helen Taylor (Canberra), Catherine and John Hayes (Auckland), Alister and Mary Sprott (Pendarves), Graham and Vivienne Campion (Barrhill), Richard and Anna Campion (Christchurch), and families. 888282 Lieutenant, 1st Commonwealth Division (RNZSigs). Loved and respected friend of the New Zealand Korean Veterans Association, Canterbury Korean Veterans Descendants Association, Papanui RSA, and the Korean Society of Christchurch. A memorial service to celebrate Forbes? life will be held on Saturday, September 23, at 1.30pm, in the Coniston Chapel, 30 Methven Highway, Ashburton, followed by afternoon tea.
