Thomas LE COMTE Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Chatswood Retirement Village, Christchurch on September 24, 2025 in his 94th year. Husband of Gwen (deceased) and father of Richard (Mapua), Gay (Brisbane), Peter (Tasmania), David and Simon (USA). Son of Alice and Darcy Le Comte, twin brother of John Edward Le Comte (deceased), brother of Margaret Mundy (deceased), brother to Yvonne Le Comte Hart, with many nieces and nephews. Lew was raised by his aunt and uncle Emily and Herbert Stribling, and stepbrothers Keith and Herbert (Bert) Stribling (both deceased). Lew was an accomplished tennis player at Beckenham Tennis Club and a national umpire. Lew will be missed by those who knew him including long-time tennis friend Glenda Meredith, niece Le Anne Le Comte, and nephews Lewis and Jeffrey Stribling. A private interment ceremony will be held at the graveside of his birth mother Alice Le Comte (nee Lewis) at Homeview Cemetery, Cheviot, on a future date.
