HASSALL, Thomas Heyward:
(late of Hawarden). On June 1, 2017, peacefully at Christchurch Hospital, aged 84. Loved husband of Elaine for 61 years, loved father and father-in-law to Elisabeth and Lindsay Key (Arrowtown), Mark and Jeanine, ("Hanley", The Peaks Hawarden) and the late Simon. Loved grandfather of Oscar, Gwyneth, Evonne and AJ Key; Christine, Isaac, Samuel, and Sean and great-grandfather to Wiley. Loved brother and brother-in-law of the late John and Valerie, Peter and the late Barbara, David and Nancy, Rosemary and Arthur Tepairi, Bill (deceased) and Geraldine. Many thanks to the nursing staff in Ward 24 for their care of Tom in his last days. Garden flowers preferred. The Funeral Service for Tom will be held in theSt James Presbyterian Church, Allandale Road, Hawarden, on Wednesday, June 7, at 1.30pm, thereafter interment in the Horsley Down Cemetery. Dear Elaine,
We are still in Italy and have just heard the very sad news of Tom. Such a fine man, such a gentleman. I'm so sorry I can't be with you on Wednesday, and send my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. With loving thoughts from us both.
