Thomas FINGER Obituary

Our thoughts have been with family of Thomas for some time now as he embarked on his journey of diagnosis of cancer . His journey has ended but along with many friends memories of times spent with him will always be part of our story. Memories of him visiting and staying with us in Livingstone, his "fruit picking" days with Peter and the gang, home brew sessions at the kitchen table, his distinctive German accent speaking English. His younger face head back laughing.Heartfelt condolences to you all.Peter and Teresa

Tom made and did things while I helped him with his mobile phone and computers. Great chats and a reciprocal working relationship. :)

To the Finger family. Please accept my condolences on Thomas his passing. Such a kind man. During my time at DSIR then Crop and Food Research Thomas made many wonderful gadgets for me to assist with making science photography easier. It was wonderful working with Thomas

Lieber Rowan, liebe Thea,
herzliches Beileid zum Tode eures lieben Vaters. In vielen Telefongesprächen mit Jutta habe ich seinen langen Weg durch die Krankheit mitverfolgt und bin nun sehr traurig, aber auch erleichtert, dass er von den Schmerzen erlöst ist. Ihr könnt stolz sein, wie liebevoll ihr bis zum Schluss für ihn gesorgt habt. Ich denke gern an die Zeit, als ich 1988 in Neuseeland war und er mit mir von Little River nach Christchurch fuhr, oder wie Thomas und Thea 1993 uns in Karlsruhe besucht haben. Ich wünsche euch viel Kraft für die kommende Zeit. Haltet zusammen und bleibt als Geschwister immer verbunden. In liebevoller Erinnerung und stiller Trauer.

Liebe Thea, lieber Rowan,
betroffen habe ich letzten Sonntag von Jutta erfahren, dass euer Vater Thomas infolge Krankheit verstorben ist.
Es ist immer sehr schmerzlich einen geliebten Menschen zu verlieren. Ihr werdet ihn sehr vermissen.
Es geht eine eine Epoche in eurem Leben zu Ende, wenn man keinen Vater mehr hat.
Ich selbst kenne Thomas nur aus früheren Zeiten, aber er wird mir auch immer in positiver Erinnerung bleiben.

To Thomas' family, please accept our condolences. We are very saddened to hear of Thomas' passing. We have wonderful memories of our short time together when we visited from the US a few years back. Sitting and enjoying conversation, tea and cake at the table. It had been twenty five years since I had first met Thomas. I had returned with my husband on this visit and we enjoyed our time together very much. It is a special memory we will keep with us always.
