Thomas Alexander Heathcote:
Our much loved father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2022, aged 99 years. Dearly loved husband, companion, soulmate and friend of Jessie for 69 years. Father and father-in-law of Susan and Colin, Peter, Liz and Jeremy. Grandfather of Victoria and James, Timothy and Judith, Olivia and Ashton. Great-Grandfather of Tommy and Nirvana. Special thanks for the great care and support from the staff at Summerset in the Sun, Nelson. Messages to PO Box 7082, Nelson. A private family celebration of Tom's life will be held at a later date.

so sorry to learn of our uncles Tom's passing ,
our mums younger brother memories include his own dark room in a narrow room upstairs in the big house on the corner of Elgin road and Durham street Mornington Dunedin, the house from where we watched huge fire works shows ,on the Andersons bay reclamation area,I think the last one for us was the end of conflict in the Korean war, about which time he showed us what seemed to be loads of photos and slides ,and a talk about his narrow escape from being buried in concrete in the Roxbourgh dam, in later years I realised I had worked on two projects where Tom and his students had a major role in the design namely the #2A station at Waipori falls Dunedin and the surge chamber on the Tokaanu tunnel in Turangi
