Theodore EDWARDS Obituary

Kia ora Juleen & Gareth, we remember meeting Theo as a young climber of staircases and trees and he went onto inherit your love of nature and the mountains. No doubt he had the best of you both - Juleen's gentle gracious kindness and Gareth's fun quick thinking perseverance. We are so sad to hear that Theo was taken so quickly by sudden illness. He was so strong and fit and loved. In a way those whom we love never really leave us. His spirit will live on even though you miss him every day. We like to think of his spirit soaring over the next mountain peak with a fresh southwesterly wind. We share your sorrow and hope that your heavy hearts will ease and come to know some comfort in time. We carry you in our thoughts, arohanui.

Dear Edwards Family,

I was shocked to hear of the passing of Theo. I had the pleasure of getting to know Theo when he attended my classes and labs at UC SOF. He was energetic and enthusiastic about everything he did and a top-notch student. He will be surely missed by all.

Theo, you were a fine person and an excellent student. You would have made a great forester. We are all shocked that this has happened. My deepest condolences go to your family and friends. We’ll not forget you.

Beautiful nephew of Louise Edwards and Malcolm Wratt. Theo was such a big part of our lives. We have many treasured memories of him; taking him skiing, sharing meals, camping trips, fishing in the Sounds, family dinners, possum hunting, moving him into his student flat, going to the Beer Festival earlier this year. We loved him so much. He will also be missed by many of our friends who had the pleasure of knowing him.
