Terry AULD Obituary
Died suddenly on Thursday, September 13, 2018, aged 76 years. Much loved husband of Allyson, son of Tui and Tommy (dec), brother and brother-in-law of Ken and Doris, Robin and Tricia, and Mary. Loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. The family wish to thank the paramedics and Wellington Regional Hospital Emergency room for their exceptional care of Terry. A private cremation was held as per Terry's wishes.

Did Terry used to teach at Wgtn Polytech aka Massey Wellington? If so, I still owe him a debt of gratitude. I was one of his Economic Environment students back in 1993. I did very badly at most of my subjects. But, thanks to Terry, I passed Economics. He improved my confidence on October 26th when we all got back test papers he'd marked. I'd only scored 21 1/4 out of 50. But he thought I could have done a lot better. So he told me - in front of everyone else - he thought I was brighter than that. And I should give myself more credit, and try harder. He was notorious among other students at the time for being "too cynical". But I realise now it was more like Tough Love. And it worked! I passed the 1993 Economics final exam after all. So I was very sorry to hear about his passing. And I wish more Polytechnic tutors had been like Terry!
