We met Terry just the once when he came to stay with us in West Mersea England, we took him to the local village of Goldhanger where he said his mother's relations were connected, over the weekend he was so friendly and we missed his company over the years

Really saddened to hear of Terry's passing. Went to Cardinal McKeffery and St Pats with Terry. Always up for a good chat and often had a wonderfully unique take on the world. His ready smile was never far away. RIP Terry. It was a privilege.

Veronica and family we send our deepest sympathies. Tere was a staunch and founding member of the Kapa Krero group which reflected his enormous respect and love for the first language of our country. He demonstrated a remarkable commitment his year when he began his full time course in te reo Mori at Te Wnanga o Raukawa. He was an example to us all. In our most recent Kapa Krero Saturday sessions by Zoom we were able hear how he continued this journey pursuing this passion for learning the poetic nuances of the language he treasured. The place in our hearts and in our meetings cannot be replaced. Ttai whet ki te rangi, mau tonu, mau tonu; ttai tangata ki te whenua, ngaro noa, ngaro noa.

Dear Leamy Family,
So sorry to hear of Terry's sudden passing. I recall our friendship growing up in Northland in the 1970s, and then again a little bit in the 1980s at Uni. A true friend, with maturity beyond his years at that time. Just sorry we never caught up again, and I'm sure he will be missed by many.

Just heard the sad news about Terry. He was a huge friend to me coming up at Marist & St Pats, and Victoria too. One of the smartest, compassionate, and funny people I have had the opportunity to know. He leaves a gap in my heart, and my soul. Thank you Terry for being in my life. Rest in Peace my friend.

I am so sorry to hear the shocking news about Terry's passing. I hadn't spoken to him for a while but I remember with great fondness the many nights out and music discussions in Wellington and London over the years. I am thinking of you all at this terrible time and Terry will be missed

Sorry to hear sad news. I went to school with Terry and played rugby with him at MSP rugby club. In recent years would catch up and have a beer or two with a group of friends after watching MSP play on Saturday afternoon. Great company and Terry will be sadly missed by his MSP friends.

Dear Leamy family
I am emailing on behalf of my late mother, Pip Wall. Pip was the librarian at St Pat's town in the late 70s/early 80s, and Terry was one of her student librarians. Mum often used to mention Terry and was very fond of him.
I also met Terry a few times when I spent the odd day at St Pat's when I was feeling a bit under the weather. (I was five years younger than Terry.) I remember we played chess together in Mum's office :)
Even though it's 40 years ago, I can still remember Terry's smile and positive attitude. He was the kind of person who could light up a room nothing seemed to get him down.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this unexpected time.
Best wishes and condolences,
Julia Wall

I worked closely with Terry during his time at Wellington Hospital and remained in close contact until his move to Otaki. My family and I greatly enjoyed his company, thoughtful conversation and expansive knowledge. We will miss him dearly. Deepest condolences at the loss of your loved one. His untimely passing is a real tragedy.

I worked with Terry in the late 90's as he did volunteer work for Stroke. He was a true gentleman and a man of honour. I have spoken with him on email a few times since but did not know he was unwell. A great loss to the world. Rest In Peace Terry and thank you. Grace Moulton
