I was very sorry to hear of the passing of my Brother-in-Law Terry after what appears to be a long illness. Terry´s work in Christchurch and nationally in bringing his considerable managerial talents to the benefit of the YMCA speaks for itself, but my favourite memory will always be the time when he opened up Boystown in Auckland in the 1970´s to Maori homeless kids who were starting to live on the street. This did not go down well with the PTB´s of the time, but it was typical of Terry that you see a need, you work to fill it. Kia Kaha Terry! And congratulations on a life well lived. Arohanui to you and your whanau...

We are the richer for having known Terry. He was a giant of a man in spirit - always ready for an adventure and to take on a challenge - a leader among men. Much love to Lorraine and the family.

A fellow YMCA NZ colleague and comrade for so many years, from 1993. A man who I quickly grew to respect, and who I sat around many tables with at all levels within the YMCA movement. Quite the leader, and a true YMCA visionary. Will be sadly missed.

I remember my cousin Terry as being full of energy and enthusiasm, and deeply involved in Boystown (at that time). I also remember lively discussions with his parents. Terry was obviously a person with strong principles, who was able to articulate them clearly and energetically, without forcing others to accept them.
