Marnell Rogers, 79, of Palatka passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, at her home following an extended illness.
A native of Tifton, Georgia, she had lived here for many years. Marnell had worked as a factory worker, a hairdresser and a server for many years. She loved to sing and play the guitar with her kids. And also loved being surrounded by her family listening to them read her Bible stories. Marnell was a member of Southside Baptist Church and loved her Lord and family.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Kirby Thues and George F. "Buddy" Cason; a grandson, Justin R. Chambless; and a great-grandson, Tucker Edwards; and a son-in-law, Mike Thomas.
Marnell is survived by 3 daughters, Dora Thomas, Deborah Griffis (James) and Donna Brundage (Bill); 2 sons, Ronald Chambless and William M. Chambless; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Johnson-Overturf Chapel, Palatka with Bro. Shaun Thomas, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill West Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m.
