Dear Stu, you were my High school handyman hero living across Jeffreys road from us who restored my first battered old Ukelele and also taught me my first few chords etc. This opened a whole lifetime of musical fun and pleasure for me which still continues today.I only saw the "Metronomes " once playing at the Charteris Bay Yacht Club's new years eve dance in the late 50's and I was " Blown away "( I was approx 11yrs old )You will have touched many people in your time and we will all be sorry to see you depart. Rest in peace whilst " jamming " in that big band in the sky " Our sincere condolences to all your family, your old friend, Dave Whiting and family .

You rang me Stuart, just a few days ago, & bravely advised there was little time left. It was such a shock! We talked of the wonderful times we've shared, going back over 65 years, and all that fab music with our awesome band of the 50s-60s.
Our deepest, heartfelt sympathy goes out to your loving family and treasured partner Pat.
Your last meaningful words to me were " we sure did have great time, it was so much fun"
And now you have gone, our always cheerful friend.
May you Rest in Peace
