Condolences to all families Another respected referee calls full time .It was an honor to have Jeanette and Stewart as friends ,he and Murray had many memories on an off the field. He was a gentleman friend, mentor and always had wise words, and especially for me after Murray passed. Stewart and Murray caught a salmon in the head lights crossing Coes Ford on the way home from a refs meeting ,I suggested Jeannette might like to cook it ,a true fishy tale and I know you'll have more tales and laughs from his many years well lived I'll miss calling on you and our chats but I'm sure you and Murray will be having an ale while dissecting those rugby games .
Love to all

Growing up in McQueens Valley Stewart and Jeannette were my neighbours. When Murray and Ewan came along it was great to have younger kids in the neighbourhood. I left the valley around 1965 before email and internet. Facebook got us back in contact and it was lovely to rekindle blood ties before Jeanette died. When I was a kid Millers made up over 60% of the Motukarara district. How times have changed but the Miller name lives on in the district and the hard work that the early settlers and then their children did are today evident by the success of their families and their families. The final whistle has blown for Stewart but his name and contribution to the community and family are written for all to read. A life well lived. May we all be able to say the same when the whistle blows for us all.
