My sincere condolences to Gilly, Tash and family on Stewart's passing. I had the fortunate opportunity of sitting down and chatting quietly to Stewart several times during his early hospital admissions whilst the haematologists were carrying out their diagnostic tests. We were worried about his recent hip replacement. He was relentlessly positive however, his main concern being not for himself but for Gilly and his family. He was one of those true gentleman you come across occasionally in life and it was a great pleasure to have known him. Our thoughts are with you all at this sad time.

A few months ago I had the good fortune of running into Stew and his daughter Tash at the Chch Airport.
As always Stew exuded a cheerful disposition. One would never have guessed he was battling his health challenges. But that was Stew personified - such a true gentleman with an unrelenting positive attitude - even during my years of playing basketball with him as a Tall Black. Rest in peace, my friend.
My deepest and sincerest condolences to the family.

It was a shock to hear the terribly sad news of Stew´s death. He was an important member of the Tall Blacks teams of the 1970´s and made a crucial contribution to the first ever win over Australia in 1978. A great team mate and a lovely man. My deepest sympathies to his family.

My sincere condolences on Stu´s passing. Although it has been a long time since our paths last crossed, there will always be very fond memories of the time we played basketball for YMCA and Canterbury during the 70´s.
Rest in peace Stu. Hopefully you join a team wherever you are now.

Margie and I are stunned and so sad to hear of Stewart's death. We knew him and his parents when Stewart and I played basketball for Canterbury. Gentleman Stew was a top basketball player and Tall Black and one of the nicest men we knew. Our condolences to the family and to those who enjoyed his company, his kindness, and his competitiveness. Stew, you will remain a bright memory for us.

I am so saddened to hear the news of Stewarts passing, I worked with Stewart at Genesis and we both finished working at the same time. We would ring each other up and ask "how many days left" and have a little giggle. I will always remember what a gentleman you were with your permanent smiling face and twinkling eyes. Rest easy Stewart.

So sorry to hear this sad news. I have great memories of riding with Stewart in the "Retreads" MC and a long connection through the LPG industry. A really good man, taken far too early. Sincere condolences to Gilly and family.
