Stephen EDWARDS Obituary

EDWARDS, Stephen John:
With great sadness we are letting our friends know that Steve passed away on December 16, 2016, after a short illness at the young age of 59. Dearly loved husband of Jill, cherished Dad and friend of Bridget and Kurt. Naughty granddad to Theo and Harvey. Loved son of Mac and Marion. Loved little brother of Mike, Anthony, Paul, Gill and brother-in-law of Mary, Mary, Aya and Chris. Absolutely adored Uncle Shag to Si, Nikki, Nicky, Roy, Katie, Warren and their children, and Alanna, Jessie, Aidan and Mac. We are having an afternoon tea on Wednesday, December 21, at the Cashmere Club, 88 Hunter Tce to celebrate Steve's life. A huge thanks to the CCU (Christchurch Hospital) and the Nurse Maude Hospice for their special care of Steve in his last week.

Although I only met you all briefly in Ward 12, I'm glad we crossed paths. In that short time I had a glimpse of Steve's sense of humour and fighting courage. My thoughts are with you Jill & Bridget - take care of each other.

It was sad news to hear of Steve's passing. I knew him through online racing and enjoyed his banter and witty comments. He was always ready to help anyone and loved to see others achieve success.

Very sad to hear of steves passing,I'm still in shock and grief as I'm sure so many are and my sincerest condolences go to his friends family and loved ones.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge a man who I got to know through a common interest some years ago being sim racing online.aka ORA_PITS ,a gentle humerus competitor who spent many hours organising and providing a place online for others to enjoy their passion in sim racing.
He always provided some light hearted banter especially with his old stable mate rick (always entertaining) from myself and the many many other guys who were fortunate enough to have spent time with him were going to miss you more as time goes on but will never forget. Thanks for the memories pitsy I'm sure you'll be hitting those apexes on the highway to heaven.
Signed Glynn
