Dearest Liz, Sam, Rebekah and family........We both were saddened to hear of Steve's passing. We know how valiantly he fought to be with you all. He will be missed by so many but none so much as you. Dear Liz and family. I'm sorry we weren't able to join you today, Wednesday, to farewell Stephen but you are very much in our thoughts. He fought to the end knowing he had so much to live for and so much happiness to enjoy. He is gone but his remarkable legacy will live on.

Steve you were always good to us especially after the earthquakes, we had some lovely and fun family times as part of the Collins/ Gadsby/ Hibbert clan over the many past years, Rest in Peace now, and we send our love and best wishes to all your family, thinking of you all - Kim and Bev Barron xxx

I worked with Steve in the original Collins Real Estate/Common Market building and over the road in Rotherham Street as his secretary. A lot of laughs, the teller of some funny stories and a team player. Rest in peace Steve.

He was a good friend, he would turn up for breakfast without warning in his batchelor days, we had some good chats, I also remember his mother well too, he had always the makings of greatness.

You added so much to my Real Estate career in the 90's as I started in the original Riccarton office this has meant I have enjoyed a wonderful and successful career spanning nearly 30 years ,thank you for being so inspirational you will be missed by all, sympathies to all your family Jane

I was greatly sadden to hear of Steve's death, whom I first met in the late 70s-80s & who always struck me as a very savvy buisnessman & on a much later occasion in the 90s he did me a great service in resolving a very complicated property issue I had , which I have never forgotten ! His wicked sense of humour & clever comments & observations will be sorely missed in this city ! Farewell BUBELAH your race has now been run !

He was a special man, full of enthusiasms and fun. I knew him a long time ago when we were both in our twenties and I look back on those years as filled with light and laughter. He will be missed by many, and my thoughts are with his family. I know the path you are on.
