Valerie HENWOOD Obituary

Passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Christchurch Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Aged 92 years. Beloved wife of the late Peter for 67 years. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Gregory and Rose-Sharon, Scott and Tanya, Stewart and Yuko, Blair and Martine, and Petrea and Phil. Adored Grandma of Ashleigh, Danielle, Angelica, Jamie, Jessica, Aimee, and Amber. A special thanks to the staff at Diana Isaac Retirement Village and Rest Home, and Christchurch Hospital (in particular, Ward 16) for their care and support shown to Valerie and her family. Messages for the Henwood Family may be sent c/- PO Box 26051, North Avon, Christchurch 8148. A funeral for Valerie will be held in the John Rhind Chapel, entry from London and Whitmore Streets, Richmond, Christchurch, on Tuesday, August 12 at 10.00am.

I was a neighbour of your parents when they lived in Cashnere so remember Blair&Petra also Stewart when he came back from overseas.Many a good natter was had over a cuppa and about gardening,Scouts baking etc I'm

So sorry to hear of Val's passing.
Many Gangshow memories with her and mum around the kitchen table, sorting scripts. Or fundraising at Blue Skies after the scout trek.
I was glad I was able to catch Val & Greg at the last Gangshow.
