To The Lay Family, I was sorry to read of your Dad's passing and you Mum's lovely Husband. It seem that the old identities from New Brighton are slowly passing away. Just remembering all the happy hours spent with you all during our childhood. My sympathy to you all.

Dear Aunty Ivy, cousins and extended Lay family. I'm so sorry that I won't be able to attend Uncle Stan's funeral as I'll be travelling overseas on business at that time. He was truly a great person and a gentleman also, and we all have many fond memories to cherish. I know you will all be supporting each other in your time of grief and I'll be thinking of you all.

My condolences to the family. You won't recall me but I was a close friend of Marcus and Peg Dawkins. I last Stan and Ivy at Peg's funeral in Havelock. Dennis, could you tell Mum that Marcus died about a fortnight ago in Tauranga. The girls, Doreen, Gloria and Lorraine and I discussed your friendships when they first moved to Christchurch. We held his memorial service last Friday. Blue Caldwell
