Simon my dear dear friend
How I loved you more than you could ever have known
The world thought you were different
And you were
And that is what made me enjoy knowing you
Such a huge loss to the world
I love you Simon, forever & always

Dear Janet, Wally and Lauren. I was very sad to read of Simon's death. I was looking at his photo when I taught him at Papanui Primary School. He was a hard worker and always tried his best. My thoughts are with you at this sad time. Stephanie Daly

I only knew Simon via the 10 Tenths motorsport forums, where he was a very well known and respected member. He gave a lot to the community there, and he will be sorely missed. To his family and friends, my sincere condolences.

Dear loved ones of Simon
I also worked with Simon at Transit and then NZTA and organised two legendary quiz nights with him, a bit of a dark horse old Simon, often a quiet soul but such a loyal and decent man with many skills. Also not afraid to stand up for his opinions! So sorry to hear of his passing.

So sorry to hear about Simon. I am an ex colleague from NZTA. I, Simon and a group of friends from NZTA ran a very successful school themed office quiz back in 2010. He was full of creative ideas and was a whiz at digital editing and the technical side of the event. I remember Simon doing some creative editing of work logos for the quiz - all part of the fun. It was a very good evening, in no small part due to Simon's hard work and sense of fun. I also had the pleasure of working with Simon on another project - only good memories.

I enjoyed Simons company and conversation over the years he shared a flat with my son Michael. I share your sadness at his death.

Si - gone way too soon. Thoughts are with the family. Simon and I studied engineering in 1999-2002 and kept in touch since. A genuinely top guy. You will be missed mate, but never forgotten.

Janet, Wally and Lauren
I read the sad news of Simon's passing in this morning's Press. My memory tells me I taught him probably 1988 . My fondest recollections were of your family unit and how involved you all were in the local school community. Much love to you all.

To Wally Janet and Lauren. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. We have very fond memories of Simon at St Josephs scout group many years ago. He was an amazing young man and participated in all activities with enthusiasm, as did the rest of the family. God bless you all.
