(Hon Dr) O.B.E. No. 4213846, Fl Sergeant R.N.Z.A.F. On July 21, 2016, peacefully at Tekaro Lodge, Oamaru, in his 98th year, dearly loved husband of the late Hazel, and much loved father and father-in-law of Gwen and David Allan (Oamaru), Lex and Gaynor Hurst (Waikouaiti), Joyce and Allen Hogan (Wanaka), Russell and Cathy Hurst (Oamaru), and Robyn Hurst (Australia). Dear pop to all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At Sid's request, a private funeral will be held. Messages to R. Hurst, 4 K. RD, Oamaru.

My thoughts, prayers and love to you all. I will long remember and think of Sid with great affection.He had a pioneering spirit that will live on after him and a sense of humour to lighten any soul. Thank you for allowing me the privilege to care for him.
