Shirley NEWMAN Obituary
On October 23, 2025, peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters at Addington Gardens; aged 90 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Arthur, much loved mother and mother-in-law of Michael (deceased), Denise and Peter, and Rose and Warren. Cherished nana of Sonny, Jeremiah, Cole; Michael, William; Nathan and a loved great-nana, sister, sister-in-law and aunty. Special thanks to all the staff at Addington Gardens for their love, care and support. Messages to the Newman family c/- PO Box 111-01, Christchurch 8443. The Funeral Service for Shirley will be held in the Academy Funeral Services Chapel, 65 Main South Road, Upper Riccarton, on Tuesday, October 28, at 10.00am.

Shirley was so kind and supportive of my late mother Pat Smith, when they were both residents of Addington Gardens. Her kindness and friendship was a huge gift and meant so much. My mother passed away over two years ago and I have never forgotten the peace and comfort that she brought to her. Rest in peace Shirley...I hope you and mum are having a laugh or two in heaven.
