Joan and Norm were such a team. Opening their home and hearts to those who needed them. She is with her Norm now, and after many years apart, this brings some comfort.

I was extremely sad to hear of the passing of my Aunty Joan. Not a blood relative but our families were so close when us kids were growing up we might well have been. I have such fond memories of Aunty Joan and Uncle Norman from my growing up years. They were like a surrogate mum and dad and were very close to my own parents. My memories include some very fun times when they managed the Trans Tours Hotel in Mandeville St, Christchurch and then when they went to Te Anau. It was such fun to go on an adventure down there to see them! And once the y moved back to Christchurch they were our rock when my Dad passed. Just too much to share here and though I hadn't seen her since my own mother's funeral some years ago, she was never too far from my thoughts. My fondest thoughts are with Robyn and Peter and their families at this time.
