From my days in Invercargill City Traffic (1970's), was when I first met Clem, a man whom I respected much for his knowledge and ability in the work. His respect for others and dignity were an example. Memories will live on.

A truly fine man and excellent supervisor from many years ago when he first arrived in Christchurch in the MOT days. That same genuine smile that was a trademark of his. Always a pleasure to work with and a terrific mentor to so many over the years. Rest in peace Clem and sincere condolences to his family.

I'm thinking of you all. Clem taught me to drive as a 15 year old in Invercargill. He gave me a lesson at Oreti Beach, Invercargill and then made me drive home.He had a great sense of humour. I'm so glad to hear you have spent the last few months with him Laurine. Another family member you have lovingly nursed through their last days on earth. Love to you all, Myra, Nigel and Laurine. I wish I could have been there to stand with you and farewell Clem.

This is truly a sad day for the family, to lose a great person from your midst.
I had the pleasure of working with Clem in the Dunedin City Council Traffic dept. He was a great guy to work alongside during the time I spent in this role.
We used to double up at night in inclement weather when rostered on the motorcycle patrols and I was with Clem on this particular evening. He spotted a car that he wanted to check out ( he was the driver I might add ) so we set off in pursuit. The drive was through a very wet section of road under trees in Dunedin and we unfortunately had a slide and spin in our Mini Cooper which put us up over the footpath and teetering on top of the bank. As I went to get out I opened the door and it was enough to send us for a trip down into the bush and smack into a big ole tree. Clem injured his hand and I got a smack on the head. Probably not been the same since, Ha, Ha. thanks Clem.
A great gentleman who has looked after those on the roads regardless as to if they felt they needed it.
Hope to get to this special day to remember an old comrade.

Such indelible memories of a much respected work associate & friend during the 1970's. His regular home visits in support of another of our team & his family during that fellow's terminal illness was so typical of your nature Clem. Such compassion absolutely never to be forgotten.
With sincere condolences to Clem's family.
Rest In Peace Clem.

A very caring gentleman. We shared our lives and sad and happy events when we met while I was going a little too fast. Our last catch up was just before Clems retirement - once again going a little too fast in the lexus. (20 years had passed in the meantime)
