Sandra McGREGOR Obituary

Passed away on December 19, 2025, peacefully at Christchurch Hospital, aged 72 years. Her connections are too many to name, but she was certainly the beloved sister and sister-in-law of Vicki and Mark Burtt, and Carl and Pam McGregor. She was also the devoted mother and mother-in-law of Anri and Donelle Gryphon. In addition, she was the caring partner of David Robinson. Many, many more were privileged to call her Auntie, Great Auntie, Cousin and Friend. She was a bright, burning star and she fought hard to stay with us. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses, especially of Ward 14, who worked tirelessly to support Sandi during her time in hospital. Your genuine kindness and compassion helped to ease a difficult time. In lieu of flowers, Sandi would have appreciated donations to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, who she volunteered with for years after her cancer went into remission. The time of year did not leave much room for planning, so a small family memorial was held on Monday, December 22, at Hope Funerals. A larger celebration of life to honour Sandi and the many lives she touched will be held sometime in February, details to follow. The family will do our best to spread the word far and wide and we hope you'll join us then! Messages may be addressed to the family of the late Sandi McGregor, c/- Hope Funerals Christchurch, 27 Amyes Road, Hornby, Christchurch 8042.

I would like to pass on my condolences to Sandis family. I knew Sandi from my time working within the travel industry in Christchurch, she was a great person to know and to work with and I am saddened to learn of her passing.

Sandi was such a lovely person. Her father, Art, tossed me and my mates out of the Grenadier on many occasions but always with love. Years later, when I owned the Mansfield, people often referred to it as the Boomers Grenadier. That was a big compliment. RIP Sandi

Rainer and I were so sad to hear of Sandi's passing.
I worked with Sandi in our early days for Air New Zealand at Auckland Airport. She was such a fun loving, intelligent and passionate person and great to have as a friend. Our thoughts are with the family at the present

I was lucky enough to have known Sandy from when she was with her parents at the Grenadier Hotel many years back.
