Ryan MCCRUM Obituary
Peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at Nurse Maude Hospice surrounded by family and love. Aged 39 years. Loved soulmate of Amanda; devoted dadda to Ngaio; precious and dearly loved son of Carolyn and Jim; treasured big little brother and much-loved brother-in-law of Michelle and Kelly; funky and fun uncle of Holly, John, Isla, Blake, Leah, Abdallah, Lilly, Isaac, Alice, Sam and Jack; and loyal, hilarious and adored friend to many. Ryan's family would like to thank the oncology unit at Christchurch Hospital, Dr Kim Glass and the staff at Nurse Maude Hospice for their care of Ry. A service to celebrate Ryan's life will be held in St. Saviour's Church at Holy Trinity, 17 Winchester Street, Lyttelton, on Monday, October 21, 2019, at 2.00pm. Private cremation thereafter.

I had the utter pleasure working alongside Ryan onboard a diving vessel on the Great Barrier Reef. Together we conducted shark feeds on the remote atoll of Osprey Reef.
Ryan was a rock star, he was always the most upbeat person on the vessel and it was an absolute honour to watch him work.
He loved life to the full and I miss his vibe dearly. Fortunately I have a library full of `Ryan Certified´ music to remember him by.

I miss you my darling soulmate. Everyday and every night I search for you, yet I feel you so close to myself and Bub. I still can't believe you're gone. We had our whole life ahead of us and it makes no sense. I believe one day I will hold you again. You are my world always and forever, my soulmate, baby daddy, best friend, fiancé. McCrum whanau,
My deepest sympathy to you all. I am very saddened and shocked by your lost. Ryan and I worked together at TV3 in the graphics department from 2001 to early 2004. On a few occasions I remember Ryan walking into graphics beat-boxing, sometimes jaded, and turning to me with his trademark cheeky grin. A sign he had fun the night before. That was Ryan, always up for 'fun' and good times. Living life to the fullest. Our memories of Ryan will live forever, especially his smile.

Dearest Carolyn, Jim, Michelle and family of Ryan, I was totally devastated and heartbroken when Mum told me about Ryan. Please know that my heartfelt thoughts are with you all. I wish I could be there on Monday to pay my respects in person - I've asked Mum to deliver my hugs.
