Aunt Mary,
You are now a cherished memory. I could not, at my young age, understand the trials and beauty your life surely consisted of. To be challenged as you were and to live as you did is in itself a blessing and a curse. Never again will a generation like yours walk this planet. Your life and your legacy is, truly, an inspiration that everyone can and should hear about and learn from. Time is our greatest commodity. Your time and my time are a world apart. I am so very thankful that my time and your's collided. You taught me many things. I am humbled by your pains in life and the selfless actions of your brothers and sisters in wartime; an energy like yours will leave a lifelong impression. I am honored that I may, one day, tell my children of my great Aunt Mary's struggle and how she made the best light of every single situation.

My Aunt Mary... There are no words that can express what I'm feeling right now. I'm empty. You have shown not only me, but our whole family nothing but love, happiness and joy. I will always remember pulling up to your house and you looking out the window with that big smile. I will never forget sitting on your porch just enjoying the day. I love you Aunt Mary. May you Rest in Peace.
