Russell BUCKLEY Obituary

On January 16, 2024, Russ passed away peacefully at Nurse Maude Hospice, with Raewyn by his side. Adored husband and best friend of Raewyn, dearly loved Dad and father-in-law of Clayton and Geni, and the late Lucas, and the late Ryan, much loved grandfather of Kiera, and also Pop of Flynn, Landon, and Ruby. Loved brother of Hilary. Sincere thanks to the Drs, Specialists, and the team at Nurse Maude Hospice for their exceptional care of Russ. A Celebration of Russ' life will be held in our Rangiora Chapel, Wai-mana, 92 Kippenberger Avenue, Rangiora, on Tuesday, January 23, at 2.30pm. Private cremation thereafter. It was with great sadness I learnt of Russ's passing.
Russ and I were friends and workmates for most of my adult life. He was true gentleman, always concerned with the welfare of those around him. In later years we worked in the Safety office together with him as my Manager. We had many great conversations about Safety and especially Human Factors, on which subject he was an expert without peer.
There was never a dull day in the office with Russ, he had a great sense of humour.
Raewyn, Sandy's and my thoughts are with you and your family.
