Roy GARDINER Obituary

Formerly of Rakaia, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Peacefully at Bellevue Care Centre, Christchurch, aged 97 years. Dearly loved husband of Natalie for 71 years. Dearly loved and respected father and father-in-law of Ian and Vicky, Dianne and Chris, and Joanne and Andry. Loved Granddad of Toni, and Jason; Sam; Jayden, and Shannon and their partners, and doting great-Granddad of his five great-grandchildren. Thanks to the staff of the Rakaia Medical Centre and Bellevue Care Centre for their exceptional loving care of Roy. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Rakaia Volunteer Fire Brigade would be much appreciated and may be left at the service.. Messages to the Gardiner Family c/o PO Box 472, Ashburton 7740. A service to celebrate Roy's life will be held at St Andrews Presbyterian Church RAKAIA on Monday, November 18, 2024, commencing at 2.00pm, followed by a private cremation at the Ashburton Crematorium.

Dear Natalie and Family
I wish to extend my deepest sympathy on the passing of Roy. It was a bonus for me to see you both in the winter - Roy was as sharp as a tack with his memory You all will sadly miss him. He has lived a very full life with the help of Natalie's great care and devotion. A wonderful couple.

(Late of Rakaia) Loved son of the late Sidney and Lydia Gardiner, Brother of Edna and Frank Bradburn, Peter and Lydia, Les and Noeline, Norman and Dorothy, Jack and Mary, Colin and Effie, Joan and Leo Murphy, Dulcie and Bill O'Connor and Eric and June (all deceased).
