Roy ATKIN Obituary
7 May 1943 – 24 January 2026
Passed away peacefully at O'Conor Home surrounded by love. He was a dearly loved and loving husband, Dad, Pop, father-in-law, Uncle and friend. Roy's family would like to thank those who attended his rosary, service at St Canice's Church or participated via live-stream and we thank Father Dave Gruschow and Rev. Rona Halsall. We thank most sincerely the dedicated staff of O'Conor Home for their kindness and care of Roy, for their welcoming of family and friends and the generous donations are gratefully received. We especially thank the Westport Rugby Club for their guard of honour in recognition of Roy's life membership of the club. Our thank you for the many expressions of kindness through visits, baking and meals, messages and cards. Over the past 15 years we have received help and support from the district nurses, Access support care, Hato Hone/St John, Buller Health and Grey Base Hospital, Westpac Helicopter and Life Flight. We thank them for their services. Finally, we thank Robert Hoetjes of Hagedorns for his help and guidance.
