Roy ATKIN Obituary

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, January 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Special thanks to the staff of the O'Conor Home for their loving care of Roy over the last 14 months. A farewell service for Roy will be held at St. Canice's Catholic Church, Westport, Tomorrow (Tuesday), at 1.30pm, followed by interment at the Orowaiti Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary at the O'Conor Home Chapel, This Day (Monday), at 6.00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the O'Conor Home would be appreciated. A livestream and a tribute page for Roy will available at www.hagedorns.co.nz/tributes.

My heartfelt condolences to you, Anne and your family, in the passing of Roy. I have many happy memories of teaching with Roy at Westport North and Westport South in the 1980s. I know that Roy has been unwell for a long time but it doesn't make his passing any easier for family and friends.
