Farewell Ross. We were neighbours in Hawera in the 60s, and I always thought you were a real hero because you were a great skier, and I hadn't even given it a go. When I did, I couldn't??

I 1st met Ross on Egmont in the 60's.He was the Real Deal.Full of energy, positive & inspirational. His success resulted from his 100% commitment. The little Beaver chomping away at the huge tree trunk. He'd get there !
To this day,my most amazing alpine experiences & funniest mountain moments were with Rosco.Especially in Switzerland. He was the unofficial Mayor of Wengen & the Lauberhorn days were a time to be proud of him.
KARLY,.....thank you for your time & your friendship.Thank you so much for the memories. Thanks for the Swiss Army Knife. AND a special thanks for the 'Bone Spurs' & deformities on my feet from those rotten Cabers.
To the "Wood-Chopper" from Hawera....you are a true LEGEND.
Ciao.
Craig Hunter.

Ross was a great friend and member of the Stratford Mountain Club. He was an inspiration to many Taranaki skiers that skied alongside him during the Clubs golden years of 1970s and 1980s.

Always generous with his time coaching and encouragment of future ski racers.
A fantastic guy that will be missed.
Rest easy Ross
