Much loved husband of Robyn for 50 years, treasured Dad of Michaela, Lauren and Sonya. Loved and respected father-in-law of Shane, Jan and Matt. A loving and loved Grandad of the late Eden, Eva, Cohen, Archie, Felix and the newly born Grayson. He was the eldest son of the late Harold and the late Doris Cordy. A loved brother and brother-in-law of Noel and Ros, Valerie and Heather. Respected son-in-law of the late Gordon and Margaret Deuchrass. Loved brother-in-law of Fay and Bryan and Gary and Maureen. Fondly remembered uncle of his many nieces and nephews.

"Ross is our hero. He fought a battle for over 20 years with such dignity and courage - his humour shining through - we are so proud of him!"

The family thank Hato Hone St John, Nurse Maude Hospice staff and Access Support workers - especially Carl. Special thanks to Dr Rose Sutherland for her wonderful care of Ross. Also the many medical specialists and doctors involved in Ross's long journey. Messages may be addressed to the Family of the late Ross Cordy, PO Box 26112, Christchurch 8148. Ross wanted a private family service and this was held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. We know Ross was highly thought of by so many people. Think of him and raise your glass.

I'm so sorry to hear about Ross. We went through our school years totally together, sometimes hung out with the same crowd. My Mum and Mrs Cordy were in Christchurch Women's Hospital together when Noel was born, and my brother Maxwell. His sister's went to Girls Brigade when I was going. So we had contact with the Cordys quite a bit. I think our fathers also new each other. We used to Roller Skate at a Skating rink at a building in the old show grounds, that was lots of fun. I meet up with Ross by accident once when I was playing table tennis at the Hoon Hay Working Mens Club and we had a quick catch-up on our lives but never saw him again. A really nice guy who I shared my growing up years with in Spreydon/Addington along with sum others if the family too. RIP Ross, love to all your family, Fione Noah nee Mazey

To Robyn and family,
Our heart felt condolences go out to you all.
We feel privileged to have known Ross over the last 16 years.
Ross will be missed by many especially around December when the exchange of the beloved ham and rose´s chocolates took place like a ritual.
Ross will be forever in our thoughts.
