Ronald Bruce (Ron): JP
On September 12, 2018, passed away suddenly at home, aged 83 years. Dearly loved companion and friend of Shona and her family. Loved father and father-in-law of Bruce and Alanna, Nicci and Bruce. Loved grandfather to all his grandchildren. Special thanks to St John for their help and care of Ron. Messages may be addressed to the Family of Ron Wright, C/- 19 London Street, Christchurch 8013. A Celebration of Ron's life will be held at St Christopher's Anglican Church, 244 Avonhead Rd, Christchurch, on Monday, September 17, at 1.30pm.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Ron. It was so tragic and shocking to hear of his passing, and I am still in disbelief at the fact that he is no longer with us.
He was a kind and gentle soul, a friend and a father figure. I and my family wouldn't be where we are today without his guidance, support and love.
It is hard to express in words how much he meant to all of us and I am deeply saddened to think that I will no longer be able to share my life journeys with him, a journey he helped create.
I have many cherished memories of my time with Ron, and he would always tell me 'never fear when Ron is here' and with his memory living on in my heart forever, I have nothing to fear.
I am honoured to have had the privilege of knowing Ron, a true friend and inspiration, and may he rest in peace.

WRIGHT, Ron (Santa):
Long time loyal supporter of the Christchurch Children's Christmas Parade Trust and its annual iconic event, the Santa Parade. For over 20 years he donned that very hot red suit and sat proudly on the most popular float. He just loved seeing the joy and excitement on the faces of the little ones. Ron never abandoned his desire for the Santa Parade to have its own building and set up an establishment for the children of Canterbury to enjoy. He was still working on his vision at time of passing. Thank you Ron, you will be sadly missed.
