Ronald COUPER Obituary

On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, peacefully at Holmwood Rangiora, aged 90 years. Loved husband of Llyween for 60 years, loved Dad and father-in-law of Christian and Maria, Mitchell and Wendy (Kent, UK), adored Grandad of Natalie, Daisy, Nicole, and Benjamin. Loved son of the late Arthur and Wynne Couper, loved brother-in-law of Rex (deceased), Wally, Sue, and their families, loved uncle, neighbour, and friend to many. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Ron Couper, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. Special thanks to the staff at St. John, Access Community Health, and at Holmwood, for their care and professionalism. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated, and may be made online at cancer.org.nz. The memorial service for Ron will be held at Wai-mana, 92 Kippenberger Avenue, Rangiora, on Friday, August 29, at 2.30pm.

I have many happy memories of working with Ron in Sydney. He was a true gentleman, a thorough professional and one of the gentlest and kindest souls I´ve ever met. May he rest in peace and my sincere condolences to his family.

My sincere condolences to the Couper family.
I worked with Ron in Sydney back in the 1990s where we talked a lot about concrete and building services, but also about cars and The Far Side. We managed to stay in touch for quite a few years afterward. I have many happy memories and learned many many things from Ron during that time.
