Roger PARSONS Obituary
"Unofficial Mayor of Hororata"
Passed peacefully at home on January 27, 2021, aged 66, surrounded by his family. Loved husband of Gayleen, adored dad of Bridget, Robyn and Steve, Steph and Shaun, second dad to Jacinta and Ankush and besotted Pop of Eve and Averie. Will be sadly missed by Ali and Satish, Derek and Robyn, Andy and Libby, Rob and Vic, Warick and Jackie, Linda, their families and best mate Andy Stewart. Special thanks to the Hororata community for their love and support, to the Darfield District Nursing Service staff and to Dr Andy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support Roger's native memorial garden. A Celebration of Roger's life will be held outside at the Hororata Domain, Hororata Road, on Friday, February 5, at 1.30pm.

What a treat it was to try Roger's barbecued rabbit at a barbeque. With his great sense of humor, I just hoped it was actually rabbit he was offering me. He always had a cheery smile and was keen to chat. Condolences to Gaylene, Robyn, Bridget and families.

I hav known Gayleen for many years and Roger since she met him, he was a wonderful man who would do anything for others and loved his family very much, he will be sadly missed, RIP

So very sorry to hear. Roger was a wonderful "Santa" at Grasslands for many years, as well as his amazing support in times of emergency. He will be missed by many. Thinking of those closest to him at this difficult time and hoping the many memories bring you comfort.
