Rodger ASHTON-SMITH Obituary
On July 21, 2025, peacefully at Homesteadcare Ilam, aged 70 years. Dearly loved husband of Janice, loved father to Lindsay, loved brother and brother-in-law to Alex and Sue, beloved nephew to Margaret, loved brother-in-law to Bruce and Anne and loved by his cousins, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Homesteadcare Ilam who cared for Rodger over the past two years. Your support has been greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations to Homesteadcare Ilam would be appreciated and may be made at the service. Messages may be address to the family of the Late Rodger Ashton-Smith, c/- Hope Funerals Christchurch, 27 Amyes Road, Hornby, Christchurch 8042. The Memorial Service for Rodger will be held at Hoon Hay Presbyterian Church, 5 Downing Street, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 1.00pm.

Rodger was a great friend, cheerful and chatty and never complained and a wonderful witness for Jesus.

Rodger was a high school friend of my older siblings but was always very kind to me. We later met as adults through different events. Very sorry for your loss. Sadly not able to attend the funeral as out of the country. Thinking of you.

Fond memories of a kind man with a heart of gold. He was friends with my older siblings but I remember him when I was little. RIP Rodger.
