Robert VARLEY Obituary

VARLEY, Robert (Bob):
(X84201, FS, RNZAF). Peacefully at home on Sunday, October 25, 2015, aged 64 years. Dearly loved Dad of Angela (Angie), loved brother and brother-in-law to John and Claudette, Esme, Joy and the late Mary and their immediate families. Robert (Bob) had spent many years with the RNZAF Crash Fire Section at Whenuapai and was a proud voluntary member of the Waitemata Fire Service before moving to Christchurch, Bob will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts and we are sure he will be looking down and having a tipple with the reunion this weekend at the Tokoroa Fire Station. The Service for Bob will be held in our Crematorium Chapel, 65 Vickerys Road, Wigram, on Friday, October 30, at 2.00pm.

We reconnected when you came to sydney and you stayed at my place. A medical episode prevented me
from staying in touch with you

Ol' Buddy Bob, If anything can be said he was a very emotional man. Besides the privilege of working with him I lived with him for a short time before I left TWL. Finding that we both had a passion for military history & the artillery used in those times made the evenings memorable and fun. He was there for me at a time when I was in need and sadly I never got to repay him for that. The first day he met my grandson he gave him a car out of his vast collection. Though still young my grandson hasn't forgotten that gesture and still has the Ferrari. Bob will be missed and remembered dearly.

Goodbye Bob, God speed my friend!!!!
