Robert TWADDLE Obituary

TWADDLE,
Robert Bruce (Bob):
Family man, educator, motivator, dedicated community organiser, known for his sharp wit and hearty laugh. Bob passed away peacefully a few days short of his 94th birthday. Married to the late Nan Twaddle, with 6 children - John, Maggie, Judith Domney, Lynne and Fred Koenders, Alison and Barry Carnell, Bruce; 18 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He enjoyed being totally involved. He was highly respected in the community, being awarded a QSM in 2005 for his work in education and the community. We invite you to join us in the celebration of Bob's life at the Napier Conference Centre, 48 Marine Parade, Napier, on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 11.00am, followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Blind Foundation would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
So "pull up your socks and shine your shoes" as we all attend his last assembly in celebration of a life
well lived.
Messages to the 'Twaddle Family' C/o PO Box 7001, Taradale, Napier 4141.

I also have very warm memories of Bob as a teacher at Freyberg High school in the late 50's. Harry Craig was principal at the time.

As an early sixties student at Freyberg High School, I remember Bob well. The only teacher who managed to get this science and maths student interested in English. And it has lasted - I'm planning to go to the PopUp Globe. I'm forever grateful to him.

The fifties cohort of Freyberg High School will be saddened. Bob was respected for his enthusiasm, wit, and great humour. A Totara has fallen.
